Niveau de preuve : Investigationnel / théorique
Principalement des données précliniques ou des données humaines très limitées — un raisonnement fondé sur le mécanisme plutôt qu’un effet clinique démontré. À considérer comme investigationnel.
Preuves humaines : No large controlled human trials; scattered small studies and extensive anecdotal use exist but do not constitute clinical-grade evidence.
Preuves animales : Substantial rodent-model literature on tendon, ligament, muscle and gut healing.
Introduction et mécanisme d'action
Preclinical investigation of tissue response, vascular signaling and repair pathways.
Synthetic fragment derived from a gastric-protective protein; studied for promoting angiogenesis (via VEGF/FAK-paxillin pathway signaling in animal models) and modulating growth-factor expression in tendon, ligament and gut tissue.
Récepteurs/cibles : No single confirmed receptor — proposed to act via growth-factor pathway modulation (VEGFR, FAK)

|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Protocol | subcutaneous | 1–2× daily, subcutaneous | 400 mcg |

Reconstitute with 2 mL bacteriostatic water
Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) is the only recommended diluent. Do not dilute with sterile water, normal saline, lidocaine, or any other solution unless explicitly specified by the manufacturer.
Guide de manipulation
Pratique générale de manipulation en laboratoire, citée à titre de référence — non une instruction personnalisée. Tout usage humain doit suivre l'avis d'un médecin agréé.
Wash hands and clean the injection site with an alcohol swab. Pinch a fold of skin and insert the needle at a 45–90° angle for standard subcutaneous injection (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm). Inject slowly, withdraw, and apply gentle pressure. Rotate injection sites to reduce irritation, and dispose of needles in an approved sharps container.
Conservation
Store lyophilized (powder) vials in a freezer at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe recommended in your supplier documentation — typically 2–4 weeks.
Surveillance
Monitor for injection-site reactions and the side effects listed above. Stop use and consult a physician if severe or persistent reactions occur. This is a general monitoring guideline, not a personalized medical monitoring plan.
Effets secondaires
- Injection-site irritation (most commonly reported)
- Fatigue or dizziness (anecdotal, not well quantified)
Contre-indications
- Pregnancy
- Active malignancy (theoretical concern given angiogenic mechanism)
Interactions médicamenteuses
- Not characterized — no controlled human drug-interaction studies exist
Sécurité
- No human safety database of meaningful size
- FDA has flagged immunogenicity and impurity-characterization concerns for compounded supply
Animal findings are not proven clinical benefits. FDA identifies limited safety information, immunogenicity and impurity-characterization concerns.
Résultats attendus et comparaison
BPC-157 and TB-500 are the two most-studied repair peptides and are frequently used together (see BPC-157 + TB-500) because their proposed mechanisms are complementary — BPC-157 is more associated with gut and tendon/ligament research, TB-500 with cell migration and angiogenesis broadly.
