Preuves humaines : Phase 3 randomized trial data (REDEFINE program) with published body-weight outcomes.
Preuves animales : Preceded by component-level rodent metabolic studies.
Introduction et mécanisme d'action
Combination cagrilintide/semaglutide studied for dual amylin and GLP-1 receptor signaling in weight research.
Fixed-ratio co-formulation pairing amylin-receptor agonism (satiety, gastric emptying) with GLP-1-receptor agonism (appetite, glycemic control) for additive weight effect.

Escalade et entretien : A dedicated weekly escalation and maintenance schedule specific to this peptide has not yet been published here — follow the dose range and frequency above, titrating conservatively from the low end, and consult a physician before adjusting.
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Protocol | subcutaneous | 1× weekly, subcutaneous | 1.7 mg |

Reconstitute with 2 mL bacteriostatic water
Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) is the only recommended diluent. Do not dilute with sterile water, normal saline, lidocaine, or any other solution unless explicitly specified by the manufacturer.
Wash hands and clean the injection site with an alcohol swab. Pinch a fold of skin and insert the needle at a 45–90° angle for standard subcutaneous injection (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm). Inject slowly, withdraw, and apply gentle pressure. Rotate injection sites to reduce irritation, and dispose of needles in an approved sharps container.
Conservation
Store lyophilized (powder) vials in a freezer at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe recommended in your supplier documentation — typically 2–4 weeks.
Surveillance
Monitor for injection-site reactions and the side effects listed above. Stop use and consult a physician if severe or persistent reactions occur. This is a general monitoring guideline, not a personalized medical monitoring plan.
Effets secondaires
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Injection-site reaction
- Decreased appetite
Contre-indications
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2
- Pregnancy
Interactions médicamenteuses
- Insulin/sulfonylureas — increased hypoglycemia risk
- Delayed gastric emptying may reduce absorption of concurrent oral medications
Sécurité
- Compounded gastrointestinal intolerance from two agonist mechanisms
- Thyroid C-cell risk associated with the GLP-1 component
- Gallbladder disease
Not yet a generally authorized medicine; combination-specific adverse-event profile still being characterized in ongoing trials.
Résultats attendus et comparaison
CagriSema and Retatrutide both target more than one receptor pathway; CagriSema pairs amylin with GLP-1, while Retatrutide pairs GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon. Trial-reported weight-loss magnitudes are broadly comparable between the two in separate (not head-to-head) trials.
